- You can get a great deal on some EVs through Hertz.
- The rental car firm has Chevrolet Silverado EVs with 393 miles of EPA-estimated range.
- It also is selling low-mileage Chevy Bolts and Ford Mustang Mach-E for steep discounts.
Ever since Hertz decided to trim back its electric-vehicle fleet, the company has been a goldmine for battery-powered bargains. In the past, we've called out sweet deals on a plethora of former rental cars from Tesla Model 3s to Chevrolet Silverado EVs.
So I decided to check back in on the Hertz Car Sales inventory and see if the fire sale is still on. And let me tell you: This still can be an excellent way to get into an EV on the cheap.
Of course, the options are fairly limited. And these are former rental cars we're talking about, so they definitely have some wear and tear. So I'd recommend inspecting—and smelling—these cars in person before buying. Even still, some of the deals look mighty appealing. Many of these cars have barely any miles on them, too.

I'll start with probably the most exciting deal on offer: the Chevrolet Silverado EV pickup. Oddly enough, it turns out a used Silverado EV is one of the very cheapest ways to get into an EV with around 400 miles of range. (The other avenue is a used Tesla Model S.)
As of this writing, Hertz has 41 Silverado EVs 3WTs listed for sale. This fleet-focused pickup usually costs between $60,000 and $75,000 when new, offers 393 miles of range and isn't available to retail customers. Now Hertz is selling tons of low-mileage ones for at least a $20,000 discount.
Hertz even has one with 808 miles on it listed for $54,178. There's one with 18,000 miles going for $47,054. The highest-mileage Silverado EV 3WT Hertz is selling has just 25,000 miles on it, and will cost you $51,000. If you're a business owner looking to electrify your fleet, you may want to snap up a few of these. It also could be a great option for anybody looking for a super-long-range electric truck and unwilling to stomach the eye-watering price tag of a new F-150 Lightning, Silverado or Rivian.

Hertz also has got hundreds of Chevrolet Bolt EVs on hand, including ones with 30,000 miles for around $16,000. If you're willing to settle for a higher-mileage example, your bill could be a little over $12,000—and that's all before the $4,000 used-EV tax credit. That car has somewhat dated charging speeds, but packs a decent EPA range figure of 259 miles and is a practical option.
There are also dozens of Chevy Bolt EUVs, the more crossover-like sibling to the Bolt EV, too. Those are going for around $20,000, with mileage figures anywhere from 10,000 to 30,000. Not bad at all, especially for those lower-mileage options, or if you can snag one for under $20,000.
Or maybe you want something a little spicier than a grocery-getter from Chevy. Hertz is selling Ford Mustang Mach-E GTs—that's the souped-up version with 480 horsepower—in the mid-$30,000 range with 10,000-15,000 miles on the clock. Those things cost around $55,000 and up when new.

For good measure, I'll call out that Hertz also has a few Model 3s going for under $25,000. One is listed for under $15,000, though that one has 122,000 miles on it. If you buy that—or any of these Hertz EVs—please let us know what it's like.
