KIA AMERICA DONATES $150,000 TO THE AMERICAN RED CROSS FOR THOSE IMPACTED BY HURRICANE MILTON AUTOJUNCTION

Following the damage caused by Hurricane Milton, Kia America announced a $150,000 donation to the American Red Cross to aid in the recovery efforts.  This latest donation comes on the heels of Kia America and Kia Georgia’s $250,000 contribution to the Red Cross to support Hurricane Helene relief efforts.

In addition to the monetary donations, Kia America will offer the customer assistance program for Kia customers in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina who need to replace a vehicle damaged beyond repair because of either Hurricane Helene or Hurricane Milton. Customers with an insurance claim for loss of a vehicle because of either storm will receive a total of $500 in support for the purchase or lease of a new Kia made between October 4, 2024 and January 2, 2025.[1]  Customers should consult with their participating dealer for full program details.

“The destruction caused by Hurricanes Helene and Milton in the same region is devastating and we want to reiterate Kia’s commitment to not only the Kia dealers and customers impacted by these storms but also the local communities that have been affected,” said SeungKyu (Sean) Yoon, President and CEO of Kia North America and Kia America. “We are grateful to the American Red Cross for their immediate response to these situations. We recognize the work that lies ahead as individuals, families and local businesses rebuild, and we understand these situations can be extremely difficult. We hope that the donations made to the American Red Cross as well as the customer assistance program we have in place make the road to recovery easier and swifter for all.”

The storms caused catastrophic damage throughout Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina and Tennessee. The funds donated by Kia will aid those impacted by the hurricanes, providing vital resources such as food, water, shelter and emotional support. Additionally, Kia team members are raising funds internally to further support Red Cross relief efforts.

“The support of companies like Kia help make it possible for the American Red Cross to provide assistance to those that need it following disasters of this magnitude,” said Alicia Doherty, Regional Executive for the American Red Cross of Georgia. “Kia has been an ardent supporter of the American Red Cross and their generous donations will go a long way to help the residents of these badly damaged areas.”

The donations are a part of the brand’s “Accelerate the Good” charitable program, which includes both national and local initiatives and has provided more than $30 million to those in need since 2019. Donations made by Kia’s “Accelerate the Good” charitable initiative include ones to organizations that help treat and defeat childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases; help end childhood hunger; provide shelter to youth facing homelessness; provide natural disaster relief for recovering communities; offer support for military families; help shelter animals find forever homes; and assist with environmental cleanup projects nationwide.
